Contact tracing for sharks too?

So, it appears we are not the only ones being tracked and traced today!

Time and People were approached by a long time customer of the Visitor Management System, Peace Lutheran College in Cairns to support their program to “Adopt a Shark”!

Their goal was to raise enough money to purchase a satellite tag in order to adopt their very own shark through JCU tracking program

With tracking and managing peoples presence being a core feature of the Visitor Management Systems we thought this collaboration and support a perfect match. Actually, all jokes aside we were excited to be able to help the kids achieve their goal in raising awareness of the plight of our oceans.

They are now proud “adoptive parents” to Saki, a 4.1,m female Tiger Shark, which also happens to be the largest one ever tagged in the great Barrier Reef. She was Tagged by Biopixel researches in the 5th of May 2021 in Repulse Bay in the Whitsunday Islands.
