The Victorian Government has placed into effect from the 27th of March 2021 that all QR code providers must push contact tracing information from visitor management systems into Victoria’s Department of Health (DH) Contact tracing system.
If you are already using the existing QR code solution built by the Government your data will automatically be captured and sent to the centralised database. Most common for this QR code is hospitality including hotels and restaurants, cafes, hairdressers etc.
Many businesses are using an existing visitor management system to capture the key information required for contact tracing. From the 27th of March 2021 you will need to push this information including visitors, contractors, and employee presence on site details through an API into the Victoria’s Department of Health (DH) Contact tracing system.
What information do you need to supply?
To support contact tracing, some businesses, workplaces, and premises must request that each person who attends the premise for more than 15 minutes (including staff) provide their:
Name – First name only
mobile – required to be able to make contact for contact tracking
