I had a great request today, customer needed to put in place a question at the self sign in visitor kiosk for visitors to sign in and trigger messages out to the appropriate people based on the answer to the question. The question was around Alergic reactions people may have to some raw materials kept on site for the production of end products.
Allergic reactions are sensitivities to substances called allergens that come into contact with the skin, nose, eyes, respiratory tract, and gastrointestinal tract. They can be breathed into the lungs, swallowed, or injected. Many allergic reactions are mild while others can be more serious or even life threatening.
I found the following very interesting when researching more on allergies.
- Milk (mostly in children)
- Tree nuts, like walnuts, almonds, pine nuts, brazil nuts, and pecans.
- Wheat and other grains with gluten, including barley, rye, and oats.
- Fish (mostly in adults)
- Shellfish (mostly in adults)
So for this customer we had to create the following question
Once the initial question is created we can add options to suit the location, in this instance the biggest concern is peanuts so we add the items
specific to the location.
We then have the ability to alert any number of people about the situation, giving instant and important information to the appropriate people
